A note on width: Kyota’s Genki product page lists 31 inches, while its linked brochure lists 30 inches. The Kansha product page lists 35 inches. Confirm the current Genki dimensions and packaged delivery clearance with us before relying on a narrow doorway measurement. Neither overall chair width nor carton width alone proves that a tight turn is passable.
The clearest upgrade is the back mechanism
The Genki’s four-node mechanism performs a selection of massage movements along the back. The Kansha’s 4D mechanism adds adjustable in-and-out movement and variable speed to its massage action. That is the feature to investigate if you want more control over the back massage.
Watch the manufacturer demonstrations and look at the actual adjustment menus. If you normally choose an automatic program and leave it running, decide whether you would use the additional settings. If you expect to make frequent changes during a session, the Kansha’s controls deserve closer attention.
Your height may decide the comparison
The two recommended height ranges overlap, but they are not the same. A person who is 5 feet tall falls within the Genki’s stated range and below the Kansha’s stated range. A person who is 6 feet 5 inches falls within the Kansha’s range and above the Genki’s. Those are useful screening examples based on the published numbers, not a guarantee of comfort.
For a household with multiple users, check everyone separately. Also compare the seat measurements in the table. Being within the height and weight limits does not establish that every user will like the seat or the placement of the massage components.
Check the space when fully reclined
The Genki’s listed reclined depth is six inches shorter than the Kansha’s. That difference may matter in a room where the chair faces a coffee table, wall, or walkway. Mark the full operating footprint on the floor and include the clearances required by the manual.
