Will Serenity Fit Your Existing Bed?
Measure your frame's usable interior width and length, and check center rails, drawers, slats, and clearance for moving parts. Match the exact mattress model and size to the base; confirm that the mattress manufacturer approves adjustable use.
At full leg height, Puffy lists a 15-inch floor-to-platform height before the mattress, with 11.5 inches beneath the base. Shorter leg combinations are available. Add your mattress height to estimate the finished sleeping surface.
Puffy also describes leg-free use on a suitable platform. Headboard attachment uses universal brackets; confirm the supplied hardware and your headboard's mounting points. Do not assume a decorative footboard can attach directly to the base.

Do I need a Puffy mattress?
The brand name alone does not determine compatibility. Choose a mattress approved for adjustable use in the correct size, and follow both manufacturers' support requirements.
Do I need a box spring on top?
No. The compatible mattress rests on the adjustable platform. A separate box spring would prevent the mattress from following the base's movement.
Can a split king move together?
Yes. Puffy provides a sync cable for the two base sections. Follow its instructions to synchronize them when using one king mattress or when both sleepers want the same position.
Which setup gives each partner separate controls?
Use two compatible Twin XL mattresses on the two-section base, configured for independent operation. A one-piece king mattress needs both sections to move together.
